Established since 1972
Established in 1972 we remain very much a family business, originally founded by the late Andrew Gordon McIntosh - known affectionately to most as ‘Mac’ or ‘Mr. Mac’, a Yorkshire Scotsman and “One of life’s characters”, along with his late wife Edna or ‘Mrs. Mac’ to her friends.
Now with second generation at the helm our policy is to bring you the same levels of service that we established back in 1972 based upon the traditional values of customer care and service and value for money products.

Our independent group of companies now includes the designing and manufacturing of Brassware, Sanitaryware, Showers and Accessories.
We currently employ the services of a number of internationally recognised designers, including probably the number one designer of Sanitaryware in the UK today, thus ensuring that we remain constantly at the cutting edge of bathroom design.

Deliveries
We operate a national delivery service using our own vehicles operated by friendly expert drivers trained in the handling of bathroom ware, therefore eliminating the risk of damage often incurred at distribution hubs operated by national carriers.
Because there are no carriers involved there are no packaging pallets left at your doorstep for you to dispose of either.
Our vehicle operators offer a courteous efficient service with booked deliveries so we do not ask you to wait around all day for your delivery.
Each vehicle is fitted with satellite navigation and the drivers are contactable throughout the day.

Despite various marketing campaigns over the years which would include television advertising on Channel four, Granada Television and Border Television, we are pleased to be able to announce that we still achieve more sales through word of mouth recommendation than any advertising media used to date.

Our premises
Our vast showrooms occupy the first and second floors of our 45,000 square foot, five storey former Silk Mill.
Built some one hundred and forty years ago it is now the oldest Silk Mill in the UK and the oldest ‘mechanical’ Silk Mill in Europe and only ceased functioning as a Silk Mill in the late 1960’s.
The remaining three upper floors of the building, along with additional warehousing elsewhere, house over £2m of stock available for immediate delivery.
Location
We are located in the most picturesque area of Lancashire so if you are travelling long distance to see us, why not take a break and combine your visit with a trip to one of the areas tourist attractions?
The Lake District National Park, an area of outstanding beauty is only approximately forty five minutes drive from our premises.
The rugged hills of the Trough of Bowland begin less than ten miles from our doorstep.
Historic Lancaster is only five miles away with its ancient castle where Lancashire’s famous Pendle Witches were held prior to trial back in 1612.
And Morecambe with its newly restored Midland Hotel which is the largest Art Deco hotel in the UK, a further five miles away.
For those looking for something a little livelier, Blackpool is only around fifteen miles down the road with its wonderful year round entertainment venues, slot machines and ‘kiss me quick hats’!
Or if total relaxation and pampering is your thing then the famous Brooklands Health Spa lies a mere seven miles south of us at Garstang.

How to find us
From the M6.
Our vast emporium is situated just two minutes off junction 33 of the M6.
Signposted Lancaster south when travelling north, or Garstang and Fleetwood when heading south, exit the M6 at junction 33.
Turn right at the roundabout at the end of the slip road signposted to Lancaster.
You are now travelling north on the A6 towards Lancaster.
After approximately half a mile you will arrive at the village of Galgate.
You will see a pub on the left hand side as you enter the village called the Plough, carry on past the Plough and pass under a railway bridge until you arrive at a set of traffic lights at a crossroads.
Continue straight on at the lights passing two more public houses, The Green Dragon on the left and the New Inn on the right while remaining on the A6.
After approximately 50 metres you will pass a Seat garage on your left hand side and once you have passed the garage begin indicating right.
Approximately 75 metres past the garage on the opposite side of the road are two small roads to the right.
The first road is no entry and immediately past this is the second road.
Turn right at the second road, turning onto Tan House, after 25 metres you will arrive at a T junction.
Bear left at the T junction and you will see our giant Mill in front of you on the right hand side.
The Mill is the areas most famous and prominent landmark so if you get lost just ask anyone locally for The Mill at Galgate.
From the A6.
If you are travelling south on the A6 from Lancaster, go past the university on your left and head towards Galgate village.
As you approach Galgate you will see The Mill to the left hand side set back from the A6, take the first turning on the left as you enter the village and turn left at the T junction after 25 metres.
